Known best for her whimsical portrayal of animals in watercolor, Amy DeCaussin
defines herself as a 'creative.' She received her BFA in Art &
Design, with an emphasis in Illustration and a Minor in Business from Grand Valley State University in 2009. In
early 2010, Amy established her business Funamals LLC to pursue her
creative works. Since then she has produced and sold stop motion animated films,
textile creations, upcycled art, stationary design, and animal portraits, where she spends most of her time. In 2012 she attended the
Society of Children's Books Writer's & Illustrators conference in
Lansing, Michigan and received 1st runner up for an outstanding
portfolio. The award came with a mentorship with renowned illustrator
Wendy Anderson Halprin.
Amy
is continuing to develop her work, specializing in watercolor
as a pet portrait artist as well as expanding further into illustration
and animation.
In September, Amy married her "art school" sweetheart Cam DeCaussin who specializes in photo realistic oil painting.
The couple currently resides in Marine City, Michigan with their beloved
Maltese Mikey.
